Complete House Refurbishment Cambridgeshire
St. Neots is an ongoing project started in 2020. It involves the complete refurbishment of a two-storey detached property including the façade, interiors and outdoor areas.
My role in this project has been end-to-end. It started with a long ideation process with the client, trying to understand how the space could be best used to meet her ambitions for the house.
Over the course of the past year I have designed a large open-plan containing the kitchen, utility room, two living areas and a cloakroom. On the first floor I designed the main and ensuite bathrooms.
The project has been expanded to include the house’s outdoor area, with a terrace and garden currently being planned.
I have had complete responsibility for this project, from the first meeting and design, through to specifi- cation, sourcing and installation.
For the design process, a series of 3D and 2D drawings were produced using Autocad, Winner and Metron.
I also used some hand sketching to help the client visualise ideas during our meetings.
The client knew she wanted to transform her house, which had a rural look and feel, into a very contemporary space.
My job during the design development process was to surprise and challenge her with new, bold, interesting and beautiful modern ideas to help bring across the potential of some of the materials, colours and textures we could use.
Most of the products were sourced from Italy.
